When Melou brings Angela back into the castle it's around about when dinner would normally be served. However, it's a festival day, so the household has already eaten, in order to be able to head outside for the evening's games.

He pulls her into his room, obviously excited, and starts rummaging through a trunk.

"Get you your mask in just a minute."

Indeed it is.

"Just a little one." He grins. "Starting now."

And there she goes! There's something a bit wild about running away from boys under the moonlight, although the mask makes it hard to see and it gets a little hot under there.

She darts away from the woods, narrowly missing being caught, but she's not second ranked in her class only for powerful hits. The best way to avoid being hit (or kissed) is to simply not be there, after all.

It's a challenge to avoid the boys and also avoid running into any of her fellow girls, as well.

Melou watches her go, keeping a fairly good eye on her, and then darts into the action himself.

He catches a couple of girls, giving them each a quick peck on the cheek before spinning them off, giggling toward another boy. It's all about the system.

Angela's still a good few feet away.

And she's beginning to tire--it's more running than she usually does, and she's kicking herself for not training to run more of a distance. But it's still rather fun, though she does end up getting caught a couple of times.

She doesn't like that much.

Finally, strong arms wrap around her waist from behind and she's spun around to face a familiar grin.

"Got you."

She squeaks a bit until she recognizes that grin (which is unmistakable, really), and then she laughs, relaxing. "Got me fairly," she says, breathing quickly. She laughs a little. "Glad to stop running."

Melou takes his hard-earned kiss and then flops to the ground, taking her with him.

"Yeah. Just catch my breath and then fire jumping."

She giggles and puts her arms around him, resting her head on his chest as her heart and breathing slow. "That one I'll watch you." She grins.

"Good idea. Your dress would catch fire pretty quick." As anticipated, one of his hands goes right to her hair, stroking through the warm and now dry strands.

She giggles a little. "We wouldn't want that." She closes her eyes briefly as he strokes her hair.

"Nope. Not at all." He leans down and kisses the top of her head.

"Now come on." He gives her a squeeze. "We can rest in a bit."

She grins and gets up easily, brushing down her dress and cloak. "Okay." She holds out her hand to him.

Once on his feet again, he takes her hand and starts back to the main area. A smaller fire has been started and while they were running around, which some are still doing, others had begun leaping through the flames. The apple barrels, now only containing water, had been moved over as well. Just in case.

Melou sheds his shirt and hands it to Angela, along with his mask. "This doesn't take long." Aside from the wait, of course.

Angela holds out her hands for his things, holding them while he stands and waits. She wonders if it's bad form to really think he's attractive, standing there shirtless. But then, she also figures no one else can hear her thoughts, so she stopped worrying.

"Okay." She looks at the other jumpers, and no one else seems to be getting singed, at least.

Most of the people have been doing this their entire lives. Earlier, the younger children would have been out with their parents, practicing with torches and decidedly smaller fires.

When it's finally his turn, Melou gives her a final smile before gearing himself up and then taking a running start.

He is, naturally, successful and still smiling when he returns to her.

Naturally. Angela, who took off her mask a little earlier, holds out his shirt to him and kisses his cheek. "You're good at that."

"Lots of practice. Also don't want to get hurt. It's a good motivator." He's grinning and sweaty and grabs her around the waist, pulling her against him for a long kiss.

She doesn't mind the sweaty part much, and he tastes like ale and apples. Her arms go around his neck and she kisses him as long as he kisses her.

He pulls away eventually, although doesn't let her go.

"Ready to go back?"

She's staying pretty close, too. "I think so," she murmurs.

"Hang on." He runs back to the bonfire for a moment and returns with two lit torches, handing one to her. "Need to take these with us to relight the fire in my room."

She smiles. "Okay. That sounds nice." Cozy, even. There was something to be said for fire on a cold night.

Oh, she'll be cozy.

He takes her free hand and starts the trek back up the hill to the castle. Where they can continue the celebration in private.
