When Melou brings Angela back into the castle it's around about when dinner would normally be served. However, it's a festival day, so the household has already eaten, in order to be able to head outside for the evening's games.
He pulls her into his room, obviously excited, and starts rummaging through a trunk.
"Get you your mask in just a minute."

He takes her back out that way and after a few more turns, they start passing people going in the opposite direction, carrying little white pieces of cloth.
"Must be getting close."

It's rather nice doing this sort of thing with him. Now that she's more used to the cold, she's enjoying the clear night and holding his hand, trying to find their way through spooky-looking cornstalks.

"Now everyone will know we succeeded."

"Now, to find our way back out again." There's the trick.

Melou actually has a rather good memory, so getting out is easier than it was finding their way through the first time.
The walk back to the bonfire is slower, some of the excitement having settled in him, but he's still smiling, arm wrapped around her waist.

The fact that she's here hits her hard at the moment, and she's very quiet. She leans her head against his shoulder, looking around, rather fascinated.
She looks over at him. He looks happy. She'd like to keep him that way.

Melou takes Angela near the apple barrels and settles on a haybale, pulling her into his lap, enjoying the fire for the time being. "What do you think so far?"
no subject
Which is really the best part for Angela--especially since he's relaxed and seems happy.

"We'll do apple ducking next, once more people get back from the maze and then, whatever we want. There'll be singing and dancing by the fire, and the jumping of course, and girl chasing. Then we just have to take a couple of torches lit from the fire back to my room when we go."

She's pretty adventurous, all things considered. "I'll bet I won't know any of the words to your songs."

But he doesn't want to talk about this anymore.
"Want a drink? Pretty much'll just have ale."

She can actually get drunk now, even if she doesn't like it. She gets off of his lap.

"All the good water's being used for the apples." He explains, watching more and more people gather near them. "And that should be ready about any time now."

"Does everybody do the apple-ducking? Or just the boys?"

She wonders when he's going to come up for air.

"You want a turn after me?"

While his face is close enough, she gives him a quick kiss.

Finally, after the boy in front finishes, with a respectable five apple haul, Melou motions for Angela to stand to his side.
"Up to you to take the apples I get for counting."
