Melou is happy enough when he returns home. He was able to see Angela, and will likely be able to keep seeing her without much difficulty, so that's one worry taken care of. As for his other encounters, well, he doesn't much care about them to be concerned.

He spots a familiar, small figure as he heads down a corridor on his way to his room, and catches up easily, a slight smile on his face.

"She's gone now, you know. You can stop being such a complete bitch about it."

The look Briallen gives him indicates that he is in no way helping his situation.

"Good for her."

He just grins back.

"Not like you to be so jealous, though. Doesn't suit you much."

Briallen continues glaring.

"Not like ye to have'ta bring yer whores with ye when ye've come back from travellin'."

"She's not a whore." He says lightly, but with enough of a warning in his tone. "I liked her. Wanted her to see what it was like here."

She's quiet for a moment.

"Ye gonna see her again?"

"When I can." He nods. It's more or less the truth.

Briallen nods as well and they continue walking in silence a ways more, before she asks in a soft voice,

"Gonna marry her?"

"All right, enough of this." Melou sighs and takes her arm gently, but strong enough to stop her walking. "No, I'm not going to marry her. No, it doesn't mean I like you any less or her more than you. Fuck, Bri, I thought we were beyond all this shit."

She leans with her back against a wall and frowns up at him.

"And I though' I was yer girl."

"You are." Melou sighs again and leans beside her, cupping her chin in one hand to keep her gaze on him.

"You're my first girl and you always will be, which means you know me. You know what I'm like and you know I wouldn't want to keep you so bad if I didn't really care about you."

"She all righ' with this? She don't mind ye caring 'bout another girl while yer with her?" Briallen sounds skeptical.

He smiles slightly, leaning down to rest his forehead against hers.

"She understands." Which is something different entirely. "I don't expect either of you to like it, but I have no intention of letting her or you go."

Briallen sighs. She either accepts it, or she stays miserable. Which will only make him miserable and that's never a good thing.

"Ye ever bring her back here, ye tell me in advance so I can avoid her, right?" She relents, shoulders sagging.

"Promise." He smiles and then kisses her firmly.

Damn you, she thinks, but kisses him back, one hand reaching up into his hair to tug him further down.

After a few minutes, she breaks away, and gives him a small smile.

"Need to get back t'work 'fore I get my hide tanned for not havin' the sheets out to dry soon enough."

"Ok. I'll see you after dinner, then." It's not a request. Melou sneaks in a few more quick kisses before letting her move away from the wall.

Briallen's not thrilled about the situation, but she knows there's nothing she can do about it.

"'Course." There's another small smile before she turns and continues on her way.

Melou watches her leave and then goes back a ways down the hall toward his room.

He's not worried. She'll get over it.
