It's a special day. At least, Melou assumes it's supposed to be though there isn't much in the way of celebration happening. Not that he really minds the lack of attention for once.

On the other hand, it's a day that's not just about him. Which is why he's grabbed two glasses of ale and is currently knocking on his brother's door.

Melou raises an eyebrow. "Probably. Any particular reason you're wanting to avoid your girlfriend?"

"Nah, just don't feel like her at this moment in time."

"Doesn't have to be right this minute. I plan on having a few more drinks before I even think about dealing with Bri."

"What's she done now?"

"Nothing, really. She's just excited. Thinks it's a big deal or something."

"You survived another year. Congratulations."

"Yeah, lucky me. Who knows, might be my last one," he shakes his head and finishes off his glass.

"Too many girlfriends. They'll gang up on you one day."

"Never happen," Melou states with an annoying amount of confidence. "Tear each other apart before they ever got to me."

He grins. "I think if I ever got them both at the same time, I could handle it."

"Way too much information."

Cheerfully, "You brought it up."

"Don't remind me."

"I reserve the right to bring it up whenever I see fit."

"Want a pillow at your head?"

"If I get one, I'm taking it with me when I leave."

"Not if you just throw it away," Melou reasons. "I'll consider it a gift. It's my birthday, after all."
